Wine is a living product. However, wines do not simply go through a process of ripening in which flavour nuances keep changing from youthfully fresh to mature. In contrast to “synthetic” beverages, usually blended according to never changing recipes, wines depend on many natural factors such as topology, geology, temperature, sun shine and rainfalls. The entire viticulture year is reflected in the wine and makes each vintage unique.

Paul Schandl has devoted himself to translating the power of the terroir into expressive vintage wines: “I would like to capture in a bottle what otherwise could be explained by pictures, taken on each of the 365 days of the year.”
